Cider Making Courses

The courses are run at several locations in Kent at our Cidery, Suffolk, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire at various times throughout the year. Please call or email rougholdwife@btinternet.com for latest.

The aim is to educate beginners, those with some experience of wine or beer making or who have tried real cider making and want to learn more.

It is suitable for all ages and we have had everyone from small-holders or farmers wanting to diversify to city workers, retirees and those passionate about learning more about the origin of our food and drink. As long as you have a set of old clothes and a sense of fun learning in a small group this is for you!

You will be taken from the origins of apples and cider - one of the oldest drinks in history - to the practical aspects and equipment of both domestic and semi-commercial production including practical work on chopping and pressing. You are welcome to bring your own apples for identification and juicing and can of course take it away with you.

Courses are 1 day and usually last from 10am to 4.30pm or so with light lunch and refreshment. In addition if you have more than 6 people the course can be given at your own premises.
